Introduction
Loro Piana is an Italian luxury clothing brand dedicated to sophisticated fashion. With a 3-floor high-end clothing store located on Madison Avenue in NYC, Donnelly Mechanical was tasked with upgrading their outdated HVAC system.
Customer Challenges
The New York City-based location was in need of replacing their Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system. For this project, Donnelly replaced Loro Piana’s existing heat pump VRF system with an updated higher efficiency heat recovery VRF system. Using a heat recovery system allows simultaneous heating and cooling to the various zones throughout the store, all being fed from the same outdoor units. This is an extremely energy efficient method of transferring unwanted heat to areas that require additional warmth.
Donnelly Mechanical's Response
Donnelly also installed multiple Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV’s) to introduce fresh air into space and purge stagnant air from the building. An Intelligent Touch Manager was also installed to centralize control of all equipment. Operating under an extremely aggressive schedule, Donnelly completed the project in just 4 weeks.
