Job Summary

The Project Manager will assist with management oversight for all phases the Construction Projects they are assigned. This person will plan, organize, and direct Donnelly employees and its sub-contractors during all installations. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor direction given to HVAC Technicians and MEP contractors regarding project scope, client demands and best practices for proper execution
  • Learn how to review project specifications to ensure goals are aligned with clients demands
  • Evaluate progress versus contract schedule to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors progress and equipment delivery
  • Interact with GC/CM in all phases of a project and effectively communicate project status and conflicts
  • Evaluate all phases of the project and effectively communicate with technicians and subcontractors to prevent and/or rectify any issues
  • Control job financials and construction schedule to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget
  • Review equipment/product submittals for conformance and obtain necessary A/E approvals prior to release
  • Assist in assessing progress and prepare detailed weekly reports
  • Negotiate revisions and change orders to contracts with clients to reach profitable agreements
  • Collaborate with PM to select the necessary resources (manpower, equipment and materials)
  • Work with purchasing to ensure equipment is purchased based on project scope
  • Track equipment after release to ensure timely delivery to the job site
  • Complete site evaluations at the end of each project to ensure project is completed to standard
  • Understand the needs of each client by building relationships with key stakeholders and educate them on Donnelly’s additional HVAC service offerings
  • Grasp and study education on industry trends to ensure a competitive advantage on best practices
  • Maintain proper safety standards in accordance with Donnelly regulations

Position Requirements/Experience/ Education

  • Minimum of 5 yrs. proven experience as a Project Manager/APM within the HVAC industry
  • 2 years in construction management preferred
  • Ability to understand all aspects of the HVAC design and installation process
  • Hands-on project manager that leads by example and can be a source of knowledge and guidance for technicians and subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of common HVAC equipment
  • Outstanding communication, written, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, ERP Software, Bluebeam and Dropbox
  • Completion of OSHA 30-Hour course
